Marriott International has nearly completed a multi-million pound renovation of its guestrooms at the Renaissance Dallas Hotel.
Several floors within the 514-room property - located within the epicentre of the city”s business district - are already back in use, with the full room and corridor refurbishment to be complete within eight weeks.
New guest rooms feature a ”contemporary colour palette” or golds and reds alongside black granite counter tops, a glass desktop, upholstered sofa, security safe, and free high-speed internet access. Each will feature a 37-inch flat-panel high definition television featuring picture-in-picture capability allowing guests to read emails on screen while watching TV.
The final renovation phase will see meetings space increased from 19,000 sq ft to 50,000 sq ft, including the addition of a 16,000 sq ft Grand Ballroom with rotating glass panels that allow for outdoor access and alfresco cocktails. Scheduled to completion in 2010, all the current 17 meeting rooms will remain open throughout the construction.
The work is part of a two-year $2bn global investment by the brand”s owners and franchisees which has included the $24m renovation of the Renaissance Times Square Hotel in New York, $25m spent on the Renaissance M Street Hotel in Washington DC and $128m on the Blackstone, a Renaissance Hotel in Chicago.
Located within the epicentre of the city”s business district, Renaissance Dallas is ideal for business travellers ” it is adjacent to the Dallas Market Centre and within a five-minute drive of the Dallas Convention Centre, the American Airlines Centre and Dallas Love Field Airport.
”This is a big win for the city of Dallas and our brand,” said Renaissance Hotels & Resorts senior vice president Rita Cuddihy.
