Scottish hotel chain Macdonald Hotels has appointed Ruaridh Macdonald (pictured) as UK marketing director. Macdonald moves from hotel property Macdonald Aviemore Highland Resort where he oversaw the ”80m ($150m) redevelopment of the premises as operations director.
The group has spent ”150m ($281m) over an 18 month period as part of its investment programme, which included building a four star hotel in Sheffield.
Ruaridh Macdonald commented: ”Following a robust programme of refurbishments, Macdonald Hotels is poised to capture the lion”s share of the premium four and five star market. My key objective will be to ensure that the brand and the brand values are known and appreciated by both leisure and business clients."
