London’s hotels have
enjoyed higher room rates in September compared to the previous month but have
reported lower occupancy.
Preliminary September 2020
data for London hotels from analysts STR showed that year-over-year declines remained
significant.
Average occupancy stands at 29.7 per cent, a decline of 65.8 per
cent on last year, and the average daily rate for the month was £93.15, a decline of 45.3
per cent on the same month in 2019.
Revenue per available room (RevPAR)
declined by 81.3 per cent year-on-year to £27.64.
The company said that, as with
August, the occupancy and RevPAR levels are the lowest for any September on
record in London.
