Malmaison Hotels is to open the doors to its 10th property, the Liverpool ”Mal”, on 29 January. Other locations include Belfast, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle and Oxford.
The 130 non-smoking room hotel aims to please both Everton and Liverpool Football Club fans, by providing a themed suite for each side. Everton fans can opt to stay in the ”Toffee Shop”, a corner suite with table-top football, double shower, teak bath, plasma TV screen and views over the Mersey. ”The Kop” is dedicated to Liverpool FC hero Bill Shankly, complete with ”team” bed and plasma TV. Five meeting rooms and a gym are also available at the hotel, as well as a brasserie with two private dining rooms, a wine tasting room and the Plum Bar, which is open to guests and public alike from 1700 every evening.
