Kiev is soon to have two more hotels ” one from the Hyatt International stable and another from InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG). The Hyatt Regency Kiev ” Saint Sophia (pictured above), is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2007, the InterContinental Kiev within the same quarter next year.
Located on Saint Sophia Square, the Hyatt property will have 234 rooms, including 27 suites. Rooms are designed around the global business traveller, with broadband internet, two-line telephones with voice mail and in-room safes big enough for a standard size laptop.
Conference and banquet facilities cover more than 1,000 sq m, including a 371 sq m ballroom, eight meeting rooms and three boardrooms. A business centre also provides travellers with multimedia technology, high-speed internet, fully equipped workstations and translation services.
InterContinental”s first hotel in the Ukrainian capital (pictured below), comprises 280 guest rooms over 12 floors, meeting rooms, ballroom, a fitness centre with swimming pool, and rooms housing the latest technology for the business traveller.
Commenting on the new property IHG chief operating officer Europe, Jennifer Fox said: ”Opening our first hotel in the Ukraine is a significant step towards driving InterContinental as a leading global brand and operator. The outstanding location of the hotel in Kiev will support its position as one of the top places to stay and a favourite venue for hosting business meetings and social events.”
