Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) is to open two new London hotels, the group has announced.
Hotel Indigo London Barbican will start welcoming guests in 2016, while Holiday Inn - Watford Junction is due to open this summer.
The Hotel Indigo property at Barbican will be a new-build with 101 guestrooms and is ideally situated, in the City of London, for business travellers.
The Watford hotel will contain 92 guestrooms and will feature the Holiday Inn Open Lobby concept.
Hotel Indigo London-Barbican: due to open in 2016As a result of these future openings, IHG has in the last nine months signed all six of its current European brands in the Greater London area.
The four other signings are the InterContinental London - The O2, Crowne Plaza London - Albert Embankment, Staybridge Suites London - Vauxhall and Holiday Inn Express London – Ealing.
IHG’s CEO for Europe Angela Brav said the new properties demonstrate the companies’ “continued momentum” in the market.
“We see plenty of room to grow here and these signings demonstrate the ability of our brands to penetrate markets across Europe both old and new,” she said.
Earlier this month, IHG announced it will open a fifth Hotel Indigo property in New York City in 2016.
