Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) is to open a Holiday Inn Express in Karlsruhe, south west Germany, after it signed a multiple development agreement with existing owner Sierra Hotel Management.
The Holiday Inn Express Karlsruhe City Park is due to open in 2016 and is one of five hotels in the agreement – The other four are yet to be finalised and no date has been given on those openings.
The newly constructed hotel will feature 115 rooms with three multifunctional meeting rooms.
The property will be located on Zimmerstrasse at the entrance to the city of Karlsruhe, which is home to the German Federal Constitutional Court.
IHG’s director of development for Germany René Schappner, said: “We’re thrilled to have signed our seventh MDA with Sierra and this growth engine is going to greatly help accelerate our shared development goals for Germany.”
Sierra Hotel Management’s CEO Uwe Aschke, said: “Holiday Inn Express is a strong hotel brand with fantastic growth potential in Germany.
