Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the signing of Intercontinental Le Grand Hotel in Bordeaux.
The hotel will operate under a management agreement with Financière Immobilière Bordelaise.
Opening later this year, the 130-room property will be IHG’s sixth Intercontinental hotel in France.
It is located on Place de la Comédie, Bordeaux’s central square.
The hotel, which is being converted from the current Grand Hôtel de Bordeaux & Spa will feature seven meeting rooms, an indoor pool as well as a fitness and spa centre. The hotel’s food and beverage offering will be overseen by the Gordon Ramsey Group and will include fine dining restaurant Le Pressoir D’Argent.
IHG VP president of development Philippe Bijaoui, said: “This iconic brand is going from strength to strength in France and this new hotel will further enhance the momentum behind the brand’s growth in Europe. We’re delighted to be working with Financière Immobilière Bordelaise on this unique property and look forward to expanding our partnership.”
Earlier this year, IHG has launched a rewards scheme aimed at travel and meetings buyers.
