Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the opening of Intercontinental London – The O2.
The 453-room property is located on London’s regenerated Greenwich peninsula and includes five restaurants including rooftop sky bar, Eighteen as well as 59 suites.
Adjacent to the O2 arena and 400 metres from North Greenwich tube station, the hotel can be reached from central London in 15 minutes.
The hotel’s conference centre has a 3,100sqm pillar-free ballroom - one of the largest in Europe. It seats 2,400 for a banquet.
In central London the largest ballroom is the Great Room of the JW Marriott Grosvenor House. This can seat up to 2,000 for a banquet, but only by using the balcony of the room. On the main ballroom floor the maximum is about 1,300.
The new Intercontinental has an additional 19 meeting rooms, an organiser’s office and an impressive 1,600 sqm pre-function space with views of Canary Wharf.
