InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) plans to open a new-build 150-room Crowne Plaza and 85-room Hotel Indigo in Las Colinas, Irving in Texas.
The properties will be in the same building ” but with separate entrances - owned by Platinum Hospitality and managed by Patriot Hospitality, under a license agreement with IHG.
Fortune 500 companies nearby include Commercial Metals, ExxonMobil, Kimberly-Clark and Fluor Corp, and IHG says there are more than 2,000 smaller companies in Las Colinas.
”Las Colinas is a popular area for business due to its central location between Dallas and Fort Worth, and we expect our comprehensive meetings package to be a welcome addition,” said Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts Americas senior vice president Jim Anhut.
Hotel Indigo Las Colinas will feature a 24-hour business centre, and meeting space for business functions or special events. Complimentary high-speed wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
The Crowne Plaza Las Colinas will feature meetings space with moving partitions/walls providing flexibility for users, multi-zone controllable lighting, and technology such as backlit projection screens and Wi-Fi access.
Meeting space will be apart from busier areas of the hotel, providing a working environment free of distractions. The hotel offers more than 8,000sq ft (743sq m) of meeting and banquet space in all.
Guestrooms will provide business traveller-friendly amenities, including a technically enhanced flat screen television, leather-upholstered executive-style desk and Wi-Fi access. The hotel will offer a restaurant, lounge, business centre and gift shop.
Both hotels are expected to open in 2010.
