InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will open its first property in Ghana in the capital, Accra in partnership with the Royal Airport Party.
Holiday Inn Accra Airport includes 168 guest rooms and is located next to both Ghana”s Kokota International Airport and the city”s new business district.
It features six Executive Suites and two Presidential Suites with contemporary amenities. In-house conference facilities include five function rooms accommodating up to 180 guests, as well as state-of-the-art video, audio and telecommunications equipment plus a fully-equipped business centre with free internet access.
Accra is the country”s largest city with a population of more than two million. It is also a major port in the region, and one of the wealthiest and most modern cities in Africa, with a high level of living and thriving business sector.
”The country is currently witnessing significant economic growth and is becoming a regional centre for both business and leisure travel,” said IHG chief operating officer John Bamsey.
”There is increasing demand for modern and affordable accommodation, and this is exactly what Holiday Inn stands for.”
There are a further 15 Holiday Inn properties in the development pipeline within the Middle East and Africa region.
