InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened the Holiday Inn Express Cape Town City Centre, the first property of 25 it is developing across the country in partnership with ISO Leisure.
The property cost $16m (”8m) and is in St George”s Mall Street in Cape Town”s Central Business District, targeted at ”the budget-conscious business and leisure traveller,” says IHG.
Holiday Inn Express Cape Town City Centre features 175 guestrooms providing guests with cable TV, in-room safe and complimentary continental breakfast in the hotel”s restaurant.
In addition, a fully-equipped business centre with high-speed internet access is available.
”We are working with ISO Leisure to bring three more properties under the Holiday Inn flag into South Africa within the next two years,” said IHG Middle East and Africa chief operating officer John Bamsey.
”Our partnership with IHG to develop hotels totalling $771.71m in new investment is indicative of confidence growing forward in the country”s economy, especially its leisure and tourism sector,” said ISO Leisure chief executive Gavin Watson.
