InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) is to open a Hotel Indigo property in North Carolina, providing much needed business travel accommodation in the city of Durham. Construction on the new-build hotel begins this summer, with completion anticipated for April 2008.
Adjacent to the city”s prestigious Research Triangle Park ” a vast research and development area spanning 7,000 acres and known as ”The Triangle” by locals ” the hotel will comprise 125 rooms and have all the amenities associated with the new brand. These include public spaces with d”cor that changes to reflect the seasons and guestrooms which are all unique in structure and furnishings.
”Hotel Indigo Durham will be a welcome addition to the area, as more than 140 businesses and major universities occupy the surrounding Research Triangle area and will benefit greatly from the new property,” said Shrijee, LLC (owner of the property) member Mitesh Patel.
