Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a deal with German hotel operator Novum to develop 20 hotels across Europe.
The agreement is the first venture between the two companies.
IHG currently has more than 650 hotels in Europe and Novum has 99 properties in Germany including their own brand hotels. Those developed with IHG will be franchised.
The deal will see properties developed in Austria, Germany and Netherlands.
Ron Shepherd, chief development officer, IHG, Europe, said: “Europe is growing at pace and we are well positioned to take advantage of the appetite for branded growth. We cannot wait to kick off the beginning of this long-term partnership with Novum Group.”
