Intercontinental Hotels Group has announced it will open four Holiday Inn Express properties in Germany.
Three of the four hotels are scheduled to open in 2017 with the last opening planned for 2018.
Holiday Inn Express Wuppertal - Hauptbahnhof will form part of a franchise agreement with GS Star. The 163-room new-build will be located in North Rhine-Westphalia, the most populated state in Germany and is the seventh largest city as a major industrial centre.
The 127-room Holiday Inn Express Hannover City - Hauptbahnhof will be located within walking distance of Hannover's main train station.
Holiday Inn Express Frankfurt City - Westend will be converted from office space to form part of a new commercial complex. Containing 162 guestrooms, the hotel will be located within 400 metres of Frankfurt Fairevents and conferences centre.
Both the Hannover and Frankfurt properties have been signed under an existing multiple development agreement (MDA) with Foremost Hospitality Group.
The 158-room Holiday Inn Express Trier will be walking distance from Trier Train Station and is the eighth franchise hotel to sign with MDA partner Tristar.
All four hotels will be equipped with the brand's "next generation" guestrooms, offering amenities including the latest technology and larger corsier beds.
Last month, IHG announced plans to open a dual-branded Holiday Inn/Holiday Inn Express hotel in Munich in 2018.
