Hotel firm Hyatt is to launch a new global loyalty programme, World of Hyatt, from spring 2017.
World of Hyatt will include three elite tiers, called Discoverist, Explorist and Globalist, when it is introduced on March 1. The US company wants to use the new programme to “build community and engage with high-end travellers”.
Benefits to members will include earning “Base Points” through dining and spa experiences, a free night for travellers staying at five different Hyatt brands and confirmed suite upgrades at the time of booking for qualifying “elite” members.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation CEO Mark Hoplamazian said: “World of Hyatt is about celebrating our members by understanding the people, places and experiences at the heart of their world. The more we understand them, the better we can care for them and design unique experiences with them in mind.”
The current Hyatt Gold Passport programme will continue to operate until February 28, 2017, before switching to the new World of Hyatt platform.
Hyatt, based in Chicago, currently operates 12 hotel brands offering 667 properties in 54 countries.
