InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will open the Holiday Inn Express Taichung Park, Taiwan in August.
Located in Taichung ” the country”s third largest city - the 169-room will be part of the Sunshine Plaza complex, due to open at the same time.
The property will be close to the central business district and offer access to major transportation links connecting Taichung to all other parts of Taiwan.
”Our partnership with IHG represents a great opportunity to capitalise on the market demand for a value driven hotel concept in Taichung City,” said Esse Commerce Development Company executive director Tim Yang. ”We”re expecting the Holiday Inn brand to develop quickly in this market.”
IHG believes the new Holiday Inn Express will fulfil a unique need, positioned as a smart, innovative and refreshing hotel choice for business and leisure travellers.
”IHG was one of the first international hotel companies to enter Taiwan in the early 1990”s,” said IHG Asia Pacific senior vice president, Gary Rosen. ”We are confident that the Taiwan market will present further growth opportunities for the brand.”
The hotel will be developed by Esse Commerce Development Co and managed by IHG.
Holiday Inn Express is expanding quickly, with an average two hotels opening every week globally claims IHG.
