Costing $35m, Holiday Inn Estancia Chennai is a 200-room, 75-suite hotel which will be managed by IHG and is scheduled to open in 2011.
It will be part of a development ” the Estancia Integrated Township, earmarked as a special economic zone ” which will include a residential area with 1,900 apartments, a 3,000,000 sq ft (280,000 sq m) technology park, and a retail mall.

”In the Indian hospitality sector we see enormous opportunity for growth in the mid-market segment,” said IHG Asia Pacific senior vice president sales and marketing Gary Rosen. ”Chennai”s economic growth is fuelled by the development of special economic zones such as the Estancia Integrated Township, and Holiday Inn will be uniquely positioned to cater to the needs of both business and leisure travellers.”
