LONDON DOCKLANDS hotel users should note that the Holiday Inn, Victoria Dock, by the western entrance to Excel, is to be re-branded as an upmarket Crown Plaza property from November. Only opened in May 2003 the fully air-conditioned 216 bedroom hotel provides parking, conference facilities and a leisure centre with pool and gym. The adjoining DLR offers a quick and easy link to the Canary Wharf complex and the city of London itself. The Crown Plaza docklands hotel is operated by the Glasgow-based BDL Hotel Group on behalf of Intercontinental Hotels.
