HILTON INTERNATIONAL is investing A$250m (”96m) over three years to upgrade its portfolio of Australian hotels. Of this, A$200m will be spent on the 577-room Hilton Sydney, which is due to reopen later this year after a two-year refurbishment programme. The programme is Hilton International's biggest single site investment to date. Meanwhile, the 321-room Hilton Brisbane has invested A$10m in a bid to win a larger slice of Australia's A$2.2bn business travel market, and a three-year A$20m redevelopment of the 379-room Hilton Adelaide is almost complete. The remaining A$20m will be split between the Hilton Cairns and Perth's Parmelia Hilton, which will both undergo extensive refurbishment.
