HILTON GROUP hotel chains announced that February 2004 saw internet sourced bookings rise by 34% over February 2003 to over 530,000. On average, more than 18,500 reservations were made every day during the month, with over 25,000 made during one day alone. Financially, these increases in bookings yielded a 41% increase in revenue over the same period in 2003. The company has attributed the performance during this record month to its electronic and online strategy, promoting no booking fees, special rates and benefits for HHonors (Hilton”s frequent vistors programme) members.
