Hilton Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of its latest Spanish property, Hilton Madrid Airport - the company”s 84th European hotel.
Placed to target the corporate traveller ” a few hundred metres from Europe”s fifth busiest hub - it offers conference facilities and 284 guest rooms and suites.
”A significant percentage of the country”s 50m- plus annual visitors come for business reasons and yet there are few international brands catering to that demand across the country,” said Hilton Hotels president Wolfgang M. Neumann.
It is close to the main highway (A2) connecting Barcelona with Madrid and is a five minute drive from IFEMA, one of the largest convention and exhibition centres in Europe. The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service for guests to and from the airport.
”With the opening of our new newest hotel, we now complete our network of purpose-built meetings hotels ” some 1,425 rooms ” in the Madrid-Barcelona- Valencia business triangle and we are placed to capitalise on the growing business segment,” said Neumann.
The hotel”s meeting and conference facilities are on the ground floor and can accommodate up to 1,000 guests and include 14 function rooms as well as a spacious ballroom totalling 1,700 sq m (18,300 sq ft).
Neumann added, ”This, our sixteenth airport hotel in Europe, continues to set the standard for airport properties and has very much been designed to facilitate business needs by providing a convenient meeting for time-trapped travellers or simply a relaxing stopover before or after a long haul flight.”
For guests who want absolute privacy, an entire accommodation wing can be transformed into a self-contained conference and meeting centre, with a separate lobby, entrance, and 159 guest rooms.
Other features included in the property are an executive lounge with check-in and check-out services, swimming pool and fitness centre.
