IHG says it will open its first Candlewood Suites in El Paso, Texas by the end of next year.
First construction is slated for a Q4 2008 opening of the property which will be a 92-room all-suite hotel located at Interstate 54 near the Fort Bliss military base.
Main business for the El Paso site is expected to be driven by the military installation, which is the largest air defence artillery training centre in the world, while the property will be owned by Cohen Hospitality Group and managed by Cohen Hospitality Realty.
With an investment cost by the franchisee of $5.2m, IHG adds that the Candlewood Suites will be the first franchised hotel and midscale extended stay property in north-east El Paso. It will feature the standard business amenities of complimentary high-speed internet access, free fitness centre and pool, while slightly more unusually, laundry facilities will be available at no cost to guests.
Candlewood will participate in IHG”s loyalty programme Priority Club Rewards that now numbers a vast 37m members across the group”s 4,000 hotels worldwide.
All Candlewood Suites feature upgraded mattresses with a choice of three upgraded pillow types in firm, medium and feather.
