Fattal Hotel Group has acquired the leasehold of the Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton for £29 million and expects to rebrand the property over the coming months.
Opened in 1994, the four-star property features 173 rooms and suites, two restaurants and 13 meeting and event spaces with a total capacity of 500 people.
Fattal says the property will be rebranded as the Leonardo Royal Hotel and will be operated by Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels UK.
Earlier this month, Fattal also acquired the Midland Hotel in Manchester for £115 million and placed it within the Leonardo Hotels portfolio. It also revealed plans to invest £32 million in the redevelopment and expansion of the existing Jurys Inn Edinburgh property and its neighbouring site, including the conversion of an adjacent listed building to a new 131-room NYX Hotel.
The group acquired Jurys Inn Hotel Group in 2017.
Commenting on the Grand Harbour Hotel acquisition, Fattal CEO David Fattal said: “We are delighted to have acquired the Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton, which is another step in our strategic plan to extend our foothold in the UK and to position the group as one of the UK’s most significant hotel owners and operators.”
