Emirates is putting the final touches to its hotel in Dubai, which is set to open on schedule, 1 September 2007. The Emirates Marina Hotel & Residence cost $81.7m (”42.3m) to build and is located on the marina, with views over the Gulf and Palm Island and a short walk from the Media and Internet cities.
A variety of hotel rooms and apartment configurations is available, with 24 studios, six one-bedroom, 170 two-bedroom, and 55 three-bedroom units all offering flexible options. There are also six penthouse suites, each one more than 300sq m (984sq ft), while the hotel offers 24h room service, and housekeeping for all serviced apartments.
With both hotel and serviced apartment accommodation, Emirates says it aims to fulfil the needs of both leisure and business travellers. As divisional senior vice president destination and leisure, Hans Haensel, said: ”The Emirates Marina provides the best of both worlds, with strong demand for both long and short stay options in Dubai.
”We are confident that this property will suit both our leisure travellers as well as corporate executives on short or extended visits in the city.”
A business centre and meeting room are available on site, as well as the Timeless Spa which occupies most of one floor in the hotel. As well as treatment rooms, the spa features single sex saunas, Jacuzzis, a gym and an outdoor pool.
Three dining options are available: a Mediterranean restaurant on the spa floor, with indoor and outdoor tables, an international fusion restaurant on the top floor, as well as a delicatessen and coffee shop.
