Emirates and Heathrow have agreed a partnership that will allow members of their loyalty programmes to reciprocally earn and redeem miles and points.
The new agreement will affect more than 14 million members of Emirates Skywards and Heathrow Rewards programmes.
Emirates members will be able to convert their Skywards miles into Rewards points, which can be spent at stores throughout the airport including World Duty Free and Dixons Travel. Rewards points can also be redeemed for airport shopping vouchers, parking and Heathrow Express rail tickets.
Members can also convert their points into Skywards miles and put them towards flights, upgrades and other rewards with Emirates’ partners.
Each conversion is instant both ways and is therefore carried out in real-time.
Thierry Antinori, Emirates' executive vice president and CCO, said: "New partnerships like Heathrow Rewards complement our already extensive product offering. As the UK's hub airport, where we operate five daily A380 flights, this partnership makes perfect sense for us and for our loyal Emirates Skywards members."
