Starwood’s extended-stay brand Element is to open its first property in Amsterdam after signing an agreement with hotel leasing firmBari Gruppe GmbH & Co. KG.
The 160-room property which is made up of studios and one-bedroom suites is located at Gelderlandplein in the Zuid area of the city and will open early next year.
Each room of the Element Amsterdam will feature a flat-screen TV, large desk, energy efficient kitchen and its signature ‘Heavenly Bed’.
The property also includes a 24-hour fitness centre, two meeting rooms, restaurant and bar and a 24-hour ‘grab and go’ cafe. There is free wifi throughout.
“I'm delighted that the Element Amsterdam will form part of the redeveloped Gelderlandplein shopping centre and the adjacent Zuid As,” said Lesley Bamberger, CEO Kroonenberg Groep.
“There is no doubt that the new hotel will become a hub for both locals and visitors alike bringing new energy and investment to the local area. Kroonenberg Groep and Multi Vastgoed will oversee the project which will see an existing office building called ‘De Veldert’ completely renovated and transformed into the new hotel.”
Element’s portfolio is expected to more than double within the next two years and reach over 30 hotels by the end of 2017.
