Chinese insurance giant Anbang has denied it’s considering bidding for Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG).
The Sunday Times reported that Anbang, which recently failed in an attempt to buy Starwood, held talks about making a 7 billion offer for the hotel giant.
However, a spokesperson for Anbang said it "has no plans to make a bid and is not considering an offer for InterContinental". He declined to give any further comment.
Earlier this year, Marriott paid $12.4 billion after winning a bidding war against Anbang.
