InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will open a ”7m ($14m) Holiday Inn Express in Burnley, UK in September.
The hotel will be operated and developed by Starboard Hotels, and will offer 102 guest rooms, four air-conditioned meeting rooms for up to 18 delegates as well as a fully licensed bar.
Burnley is currently going through a regeneration programme and IHG supports the local authority”s commitment to increasing tourism in the town, and believes the Holiday Inn will bring business to the area. It will also employ up to 31 staff.
”Holiday Inn Express will appeal to both business and leisure visitors to the area who are familiar with the name, as well as the high quality standards of service it implies,” said Holiday Inn Express Burnley general manager Jane Walton.
Located on Pendle Way, it is within easy access to the M65 motorway which connects to key cities including Leeds, Blackpool and Manchester.
”Burnley is the start of a series of mid-price hotels currently in the pipeline, with hotels in Yorkshire, the North East and West Midlands to follow,” said Starboard Hotels managing director Paul Callingham.
