Marriott International’s Autograph Collection Hotels is set to become the group’s fastest-growing brand in Europe as it targets 12 new properties and 25 per cent growth across the continent in 2019.
Launched in 2010, the Autograph Collection Hotels portfolio currently features more than 160 independent properties around the world, including the Bankside Hotel (pictured) and St Ermin’s Hotel in London.
Properties set to join the brand this year include Aegon in Mykonos, Hotel Universo in Lucca near Florence, Schloss Lieser in the Moselle region of Germany, Academia of Athens, The Shelbourne in Dublin and Sapphire House in Antwerp.
John Licence, VP of premium and select brands Europe for Marriott International, said: “With the depth and diversity of Autograph Collection Hotels, we have the unique opportunity to create one-of-a-kind, memorable experiences for travellers. The brand’s significant growth momentum throughout Europe solidifies it as an established leader in the independent hotel space, and we are thrilled to welcome 12 exceptional hotels to our European portfolio in 2019.”
Carlton Everton, chief development officer in Europe for Marriott International, added: “Autograph Collection’s terrific growth is driven by owners who want to maintain their independent spirit while leveraging the company’s powerful distribution, sales and loyalty platforms, and a changing consumer who values experiences above everything else. With the number of independent hotels still outweighing branded properties in Europe, this brand still has tremendous growth potential.”
