American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) has expanded its online accommodation programme to give companies and their travellers access to more than 2 million properties worldwide through its existing relationship with Booking.com.
Using their online booking tool (OBT), GBT clients and travellers can select from a range of accommodation options, including major chain hotels, independent properties, non-traditional lodging and extended-stay options, alongside transportation.
GBT’s relationships with hotel chains and third-party travel partners gives clients access to loyalty member rates and additional discounts at properties around the world, according to the TMC. With the expansion of the company’s partnership with Booking.com, businesses also now have access to the site’s Genius rates, which offer savings of at least 10 per cent on every booking. Properties offering these discounts will appear on OBTs as “Genius Business”.
Wesley Bergstrom, GBT vice president of global supplier relations, said: “We are determined to give clients and travellers access to the widest range of accommodation choices, with a vast range of properties and property types, all bookable through OBTs. Travellers have no reason to search for accommodation anywhere else: they can find everything they want in one place and confirm their accommodation and transportation all in a single booking. It means more choice and convenience for the traveller, more value and improved compliance for the client.”
Clients and their travellers can also access the wider range of accommodation inventory by calling their GBT counsellor.
