50,000 more properties to go on GDS
Amadeus has signed a strategic partnership deal with Transhotel, an online reservation company, which will eventually provide a further 50,000 properties on its GDS.
The travel IT company said it was developing software to integrate Transhotel's content within its selling platform.
It said this new software would provide "seamless access" to Transhotel's 50,000 properties when it is launched later this year.
Amadeus said the new solution would be piloted in selected markets in March and available to agents soon after that.
Amadeus said the 50,000 properties on Transhotel would be a "sizeable addition" to its existing 80,000 hotels.
Ian Wheeler, Amadeus' vp marketing, said: "We are excited to partner with Transhotel to provide travel agents with access to a greater number of hotels and more commissionable content in our new consolidator product.
"By signing agreements with hotel consolidators we are able to make a number of independent hotels available to travel agents with all the efficiency and reliability associated with our distribution system."
