Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide is to open its first property under the new ”aloft” brand at Montreal's Trudeau International Airport
Developed and owned by the joint venture between Silver Hotel Group and Northampton Group, it offers 136 guest rooms with loft-like nine feet tall ceilings and extra large windows to create a ”bright, airy” environment, plus walk-in showers in large bathrooms.
Each room will provide a high-tech office and entertainment centre, with wireless internet access, a one-stop connectivity solution for multiple electronic devices such as PDA's, cell phones, mp3 players and laptops - all linking to a large flat-panel LCD television.
”The sleekness and dynamism of the aloft lifestyle complements the sophistication and style of Montreal, where we are proud to make our global debut,” said aloft and element hotels worldwide vice president Brian McGuinness.
Located at the entrance to the airport, guests can reach the centre of Montreal in just 20 minutes, with access to several corporate headquarters as well as local attractions and shopping.
”Montreal is the ideal location for aloft, a new lifestyle brand that we believe will quickly become the choice for travellers in the know,” said Silver Hotel Group president Deepak Ruparell.
The first few aloft brand hotels are scheduled to open this summer with 88 development projects in more than 10 countries scheduled to open in 2009.
