Can business travel embrace diversity, equity and inclusion?


The BTN Group’s recent DE&I survey showed potential traction for diversity, equity and inclusion in managed business travel, but actionable specifics were difficult to pin down. That's not to say that industry appetite isn't there. Several interviewees – each of them a person of colour who has dealt with these issues personally – pointed out that companies are often reticent to give details around their activities or positions lest they get outed for falling short. To make real progress, however, the industry will have to take that risk and be willing to engage openly and transparently. Progress will be a long journey, but this report found a travel industry – both buyers and supplier – taking some meaningful steps toward a diverse and equitable future.
