TQ3 Travel Solutions has announced major deals with two companies owned by leading GDSs.
The first is an extension of its global reseller agreement with e-Travel, an online solutions provider owned by Amadeus.
The second is with GetThere, a corporate online travel reservation system owned by Sabre.
The 3.5 year extension to the e-Travel agreement comes after several of TQ3's multi-national companies have begun using Amadeus packages like Aergo and the TMC is rolling out its TQ3 Business package to clients in 11 countries of Europe. This should be completed by the end of this March.
The product is aimed at “lightly managed” business travel and is part of the TMC's aim to help customers use online booking.
e-Travel will also work as a preferred supplier with TQ3 Enterprise, TQ3's online offer for its large corporate customers.
As part of the deal, the two companies will set up an EMEA support team and two pan-European call centres.
Michel LaBianca, TQ3's chief information officer, said: “With more than 23% of our clients currently booking travel online, TQ3 is fully committed to providing its clients with…technology to help them more effectively manage their travel online.”
Ian Wheeler, acting managing director of e-Travel said companies would save both time and money by taking travel online and also enforce their corporate travel policy.
He said the agreement would also enable it to “consolidate our foothold” in the German corporate travel market where TQ3 has a strong position.
Under the agreement with GetThere, the reservation system will become a preferred supplier for the TMC's online solution for large companies whose travel is “highly managed.”
Floyd Widener, GetThere's vp, said his company's system was compatible with all GDSs. “This means TQ3 can offer its multinational customers a single online booking solution, regardless of which GDS it is using. This brings huge advantages in terms of economies and efficiencies,” he said.
