NEW YORK visitors can add the Statue of Liberty to their itinerary once again. Closed after the 9/11 tragedy the statue re-opens 3 August and tourists will be able to climb up to the Statue's observation deck to see the panoramic views of New York City and New Jersey. Visitors will have a choice of two tours into the Statue of Liberty: the Statue of Liberty Observatory Tour and the Statue of Liberty Promenade Tour. Both will include a visit to the Statue's original torch and a guided tour through the Statue of Liberty Museum. To eliminate the previous long waiting lines, these tours will be offered by timed reservations that can be made in advance. Even without a reservation, visitors can enjoy ranger tours around Liberty Island. Ellis Island is also included in the package.
