Jetnav, an online flight information provider, now offers an integrated flight and hotel search facility using Google Maps. Online travel marketing specialist, Netizen Digital, was responsible for developing the software, which combines Jetnav flight data with hotel reservation agency, booking.com.
The website now offers a variety of ways to search for a flight and check available routes at specific airports, with alternative routes and airports when a preferred flight is unavailable.
Integration with Google Maps makes it easier to see the range of options on any given route, so that if a flight is unavailable from a chosen airport, Google Maps will automatically display all airports within 250km of the original choice that do serve the destination.
When flight routes are successfully located, Google Maps will then show the nearest 20 hotels around the departure or arrival airport. Users can hover the cursor over each hotel site for hotel information, user ratings and images to be displayed via Jetnav”s partner, booking.com. Customers are then directed to booking.com if they wish to book a hotel.
Jetnav MD Chris Mellard, said: ”We are committed to delivering the best user experience to our website visitors. The Google Maps integration layer has simplified the way our visitors find flights and routes; the hotel details now provide visitors with a quick and convenient way to find and evaluate accommodation. Users can then click through to booking.com to check availability and make a booking.”
