Most of us have, at some time or another, sent an email to the wrong person. That heart-stopping moment when you cover your mouth with your hand and perhaps utter the odd expletive as you realise there”s no way to get it back unless a savvy IT whiz is close at hand.
Imagine, then, US domestic carrier Spirit Air CEO, Ben Baldanza”s despair when he hit ”reply all” and accidentally sent the following reply to a customer who had written in with a complaint. It was intended for a member of his staff, whose name we won”t include:
”Please respond but we owe him nothing as far as I'm concerned. Let him tell the world how bad we are. He's never flown us before anyway and will be back when we save him a penny.”
Blogger Alex Rudloff was forwarded the message by the customer, who then published it for all the world to see.
Nothing like an email from the CEO to support your argument.
