I N C I D E N T A L L Y:
EASTERN AIR LINES gained a mention in last week”s issue, or rather we referred to Eastern Airways Ltd (also EAL) with regard to the acronym ”Eastern”s Always Late”. The airline we were speaking about was one of the big four US carriers dating back to the years before WWII which had such great American aviation heroes as Eddie Rickenbacker and Frank Borman as Chairman at various times. Sadly these days it is the ”Late” Eastern Air Lines, the airline collapsing in 1991.
And another cabin announcement;
"Your seat cushions can be used for flotation; and, in the event of an emergency water landing, please paddle to shore and take them with our compliments."
Plus a pure transport joke
A policeman pulled a car over and told the man driving that he was going 50 mph in a 40 mph zone.
"I was only going 40!" the driver protested.
"Not according to my radar," the officer replied.
"Yes, I was!" the man shouted back.
"No you weren't!" the policeman said, starting to get annoyed. With that, the man's wife leaned toward the window and said,
"Officer, I should warn you not to argue with my husband when he's been drinking."
Have a good day!
