It is holiday time with the children off school. We thought this would be an ideal opportunity to publish the efforts of Inverness Airport in organising the Gateway Art Project which included a visit to the airport by local schools. Clearly these Scottish kids are very perceptive. Once back in class the children had to produce a poem about airports. A fine booklet with all the prose is available. Contact [email protected]
CONTRABAND
My plane is delayed.
I walk up to complain.
People are chatting to me.
A man asks me to calm down.
My budgie falls out of my suitcase.
I am kept waiting for five hours.

STANDING IN LINE
I wondered as I stood in line.
How much longer must I wait?
I”ll surely die of standing still,
beneath this departure gate.
I”m new to this so I don”t know
how long its supposed to take
I”m a first time flyer can”t you see?
and my feet are beginning to ache!
It”s only cause I”m apprehensive
That I”m moaning such a lot,
So will someone kindly tell me now ”
is this plane coming, or not?!
