Flight International magazine has gained disproportionate coverage this week, its social column Straight & Level, edited by one Roger Bacon, extremely hard on what it calls Birdseed Airways.
”So Rod turns up and offers free flight vouchers to who? Not the long suffering passengers, but the check-in staff who have been so stressed because half their colleagues have thrown a sickie over the bank holiday weekend”. Slightly tough on the poor dears.
Since we are in a BA mention mood we note from THE SUNDAY TIMES that London”s major airline is ”Backing the Bid”. It”s painted on G-BUSH. Olympics or President!
And a topical one to round off.
”Though I Fly Through the Valley of Death I Shall Fear No Evil.
For I am at 80,000 feet and climbing!”
(Sign over the entrance to the old SR-71 operating base Kadena, Japan).
