INCIDENTALLY: Airline Nicknames

I N C I D E N T A L L Y:

Airline nicknames are as old as the airlines themselves.  Imperial Airways will always be Imperious Airways, even if the Handley Page Hannibal is long forgotten.

Here are a few choice selections from deceased carriers who have passed into the great hangar in the sky.  We thought it unfair to use current operators.  More additions welcome which we will perhaps use in a few weeks” time.

And of course you will have to be of a certain vintage to know that Dan Dare was always the nickname of Dan Air, Dan Dare being a hero of the comic Eagle.
