Flying Boats (Short Sunderland type) used to be a regular sight over Sydney Harbour. One just wonders what the captains of those wallowing machines would have thought after being chased by a Cameroon Balloons Flying House.
One of the UK”s smaller airlines had a problem the other week. The carrier operates services that tend to leap from one airport to another, and then on to a third (or even forth) point. On the evening in question there was a 45 minute delay which did not go down particularly well with passengers. The usual quick stopover was also extended and the captain announced that if anybody wanted to stretch their legs re-boarding would be in 30 minutes.
Everyone struck out for the terminal except one gentleman who was blind, his dog laying quietly beneath the seat in front of him. He was a regular and the captain approached him with a suggestion that he might help with some exercise. ”No thanks,” said the man, ” but I do think that Fido would like a walk.”
So the captain ambled into the terminal attached to the dog for the bind, and wearing his usual shades.
A sudden hush descended upon the lounge. Not a word was spoken. The dog then reversed direction and marched off towards the aircraft.
A number of passengers were left behind at that particular airport when the aircraft finally took off. top
