Wireless internet provider, Trustive, has introduced a new payable consumer service to provide wi-fi hotspot access to business travellers in key European locations. The company guarantees a seamless service through its partnerships with other hotspot providers, avoiding access frustrations that can occur at commercial wi-fi locations.
Trustive cites figures from ABI Research, which reveal that the number of commercial hotspots worldwide grew by 47% in 2006. However, users are often faced with access difficulties such as multiple logins, limited coverage from individual providers and problems sending emails.
To avoid these issues, the company has teamed with 60 other wi-fi providers across the European Union (EU), such as The Cloud, SFR, KPN Hotspots and Vodafone Italia. The network covers 20,000 hotspot locations and includes all major EU airports.
Customers register for the service via the company website, where they can download HotSpotter ” a device that detects Trustive hotspots and allows for one click access to the network. Subscription options include pre-pay services or monthly billing accounts, charged at a per second rate.
The HotSpotter also has a unique email tool that ensures emails are sent from the email provider, even if SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) access is blocked. The tool provides account history and VPN connectivity.
”Today”s business traveller is demanding seamless wi-fi access wherever they are in the world,” said Trustive co-founder and MD, Bram Jan Streefland. ”Our per second pricing also means that users can avoid the frustration of burning minutes unnecessarily.
”For example, at an airport you may only want wireless access for ten minutes to check some emails, but often you are only presented with the option to purchase a 60 minute voucher that is only valid for a limited amount of time.”
