Galileo, the global distribution system (GDS) provider owned by Travelport, is to distribute fares and inventory for Oasis Hong Kong Airlines. The deal will enable Galileo-connected agents to be first to implement Oasis content in the GDS.
Asia”s low-fare long-haul carrier, which took to the skies on 26 October last year, currently supplies its fare data to other non-GDS distribution systems, such as internet websites. Everything from fares to booking classes and associated inventory will now be available offline for Galileo users.
Oasis has entered into a separate agreement with another Travelport subsidiary, eBookers. The pan-European online travel agent will also distribute the carrier”s fares via its website, adding non-GDS distribution to the GDS it receives from Galileo.
”We are pleased to be working with Galileo as they provide us not only access to a large travel agent community in Asia and the United Kingdom, but they will extend our reach to those markets globally that will see the value of our products,” said Oasis Hong Kong Airlines head of international distribution Lesley Hagan. ”Travelport”s other products will also extend our inventory to the ever-growing online consumer market.”
Oasis head of IT, Michael Wirth, added: ”Galileo has proved extremely flexible both commercially and technically. This has allowed us to integrate new techniques that benefit the travel agents and Oasis alike, while maintaining our low fares approach and expanding our reach to the global travel community at the same time.”
