A new tool specifically aimed at travel managers has been launched by Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
The CWT Program Management Center is a web-based facility to provide travel managers and buyers easy access to information and data they need to manage their travel programme.
The announcement of the new tool was made this week at the ACTE Global Education Conference in Miami but the first part of it was delivered to clients late last month.
This is a multi-lingual, multi-currency reporting centre dashboard which enables travel managers to monitor key metrics and trends.
These include market share, online booking adoption, missed hotel bookings, low far acceptance, air spend by month or year, average ticket prices and non-compliance to policy.
The reporting functionality is available in nine languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Danish, Dutch, Swedish and Brazilian Portuguese.
CWT said that two additional enhancements to the tool would follow in July and November 2007, with the fourth and final phase in the first half of 2008.
The TMC said that each phase will deliver "additional capabilities and data integration to further streamline travel programme management."
The CWT Program Management Center will also include features on safety and security and environmental reporting.
The safety and security functionality will give travel managers central access to travel alerts and traveller location reporting in case of bad weather or natural disasters or security alerts.
It will also include CWT's post-trip carbon emissions reporting facility enabling clients to facilitate their carbon offsetting efforts.
Loren Brown, Carlson's executive vp, technology and product management, said: "The CWT Program Management Center simplifies the daily life of travel professionals by housing all relevant information in one place.
"It will save them time and money while allowing them to optimise their travel programme goals."
