BCD Meetings and Incentives (BCD M&I) has bought the UK events company Talking Point.
The move not only expands BCD's presence in the MICE market bit also gives it in-house capability to produce live events.
BCD Holdings, parent company of BCD M&I, already had a stake in the British company as it was partly owned by The Travel Company which BCD bought last year.
Talking Point employs 46 staff and counts among its clients Sony, 02 and Bosch.
Its founder and managing director Robin Smith will hold the same position for BCD Meetings and Incentives UK.
The company will immediately trade under the BCD banner.
Scott Graf, president of BCD M&I, said the acquisition was a "groundbreaking addition for us which provides immediate credibility and expertise in the marketplace."
He added: "The acquisition of Talking Point gives us a stronghold in the British Isles and
complements the broad presence we already have within Continental Europe."
BCD M&I, an operating unit of BCD Travel and based in Chicago, now has wholly owned operations in 12 European countries: Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Finland,France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the UK.
Mr Smith said the acquisition would enable his old company to "broaden our service offering within the UK and Ireland to span all the products and services offered by BCD Meetings & Incentives, including strategic meetings management."
