Travel data specialist Travelogix has launched a duty of care platform for TMCs and their customers at the organisation’s Client Assembly in Birmingham today.
The new platform, Geo, is available through the company’s Analytix product and allows TMCs and their clients to locate travellers based on the passive tracking of itinerary data, with visibility of both present and future travel movements.
Travelogix continues to work with Safeture to deliver security alerts, country information and a Covid-19 risk map overlay within the platform.
Development began six months ago with Meon Valley Travel a key development partner.
“Traveller tracking is an aspect of duty of care that is too often sidelined or thought overly onerous or complex, but it has risen to the top of the agenda,” said Travelogix founder and CEO Chris Lewis, pictured below. “Everything that has happened over the last 20 months has led to this [development].”
Existing Analytix users can switch Geo on now and there is no need for new data feeds or to change operational procedures, said Lewis. “Analytix and Geo run off the exact same data feeds but we have added an interface with Travelport.”

Among other benefits, the addition of Travelport enables users to see travel bookings that are not yet confirmed or ticketed.
Lewis praised Travelport for working collaboratively with third party developers and said Travelogix will consider adding Amadeus and Sabre based on customer demand.
Phase two of Geo will see the introduction of a “robust comms module” with a long-term view of being able to push messages to traveller apps.
In a separate development, Travelogix will launch a set of dashboard widgets for the Analytix platform in Q1 2022 that will allow users to view “snapshots and summaries” relating to budget, duty of care and sustainability metrics.
The ten widgets will include spend versus budget, total savings, total missed savings, total CO2 emissions and emissions versus budget.
“During the last 20 months, we have delivered analytics and industry reports, platform enhancements and now a brand new platform to the wider industry with one goal in mind – to assist with the recovery of business travel.”
