Avis has added new features to its mobile app that give travellers straight-to-vehicle access and the ability to select or upgrade their car at pick-up.
Following a launch in the US and Australia, the car rental firm has issued a wider release of the enhancements, which it says offers customers faster services at key locations in Europe, including Heathrow and Paris Orly airports. It plans to roll out the updates across the continent over the coming months.
The self-service functionalities of the app allow users to manage their rental process from start to finish, according to Avis. Push notifications update customers on the exact location of their vehicle, while the app now pre-populates forms for future bookings.
In addition, members of the Avis Preferred loyalty programme can bypass the customer service desk when using the app. They can also change or upgrade their vehicle, access the rental agreement and obtain assistance on demand.
Mark Servodidio, president, international at Avis Budget Group, commented: “When we launched the Avis app our goal was to simplify the rental process and empower our customers with the latest tools that meet their on-demand needs. Our ongoing investment in developing the latest streamlined app functionalities is testament to Avis Budget Group understanding its customers and giving them complete control throughout the rental process, from booking to drop-off. We’ve not only removed the stress but also the rental desk to give an even faster, premium service.”
