Travel tech firm Amadeus has completed its €320 million acquisition of airport, airline and border control biometrics solution provider Vision-Box after the deal received all the necessary regulatory approvals.
As part of the acquisition, which was first announced in January, Vision-Box's 470 employees and its founder and CEO Miguel Leitmann have joined Amadeus, with Leitmann now reporting to Amadeus’ president of travel Decius Valmorbida.
Madrid-based Amadeus said the acquisition enables it to "deliver a fully integrated traveller journey from the moment of booking to arrival at the airport", with new biometrics technology and border control solutions now included in its portfolio.
